The Grand Canyon Skywalk is a tourist attraction along the Colorado River on the edge of the Grand Canyon (Grand Canyon West) in the U.S. state of Arizona. It was funded by the Hualapai Indian tribe in partnership with Chinese-American businessman David Jin.[1]

The horseshoe-shaped glass walkway stands at a 3,600 feet (1,100 m) height above the floor of the canyon, a height exceeding those of the world's tallest skyscrapers.[2] The Skywalk is not directly above the main canyon, Granite Gorge, which contains the Colorado River. Instead it extends over a side canyon and affords a view into the main canyon.[3] USGS topographic maps show the elevation at the Skywalk's location as 4,770 ft (1,450 m) and the elevation of the Colorado River in the base of the canyon as 1,160 ft (350 m), and they show that the height of the exactly vertical drop directly under the skywalk is between 500 ft (150 m) and 800 ft (240 m).[4]

Commissioned and owned by the Hualapai Indian tribe, it was unveiled March 20, 2007, and opened to the general public on March 28, 2007. It is accessed via the Grand Canyon West Airport terminal or a 120 mile (190 km) drive from Las Vegas, which includes an unpaved and bumpy 18 mile (29 km) stretch.

A Àrea das Cataratas têm cerca de 275 quedas de àgua, com uma altura superior a 70 metros ao longo de 2,7 km do Rio Iguaçu. A Garganta do Diabo principia em forma de "U" invertido com 150 metros de largura e 80 metros de altura. Veja o termo "Desfiladeiro". A Garganta do Diabo é o maior, o mais majestoso e impressionante de todos eles. Este é devido pela linha fronteira entre o Brasil e a Argentina. A maioria das quedas de água (também chamados de saltos) ficam em território argentino, mas é efetivamente do lado brasileiro que se obtêm os mais belos panoramas.

The waterfall system consists of 275 falls along 2.7 kilometres (1.67 miles) of the Iguazu River. Some of the individual falls are up to 82 metres (269 feet) in height, though the majority are about 64 metres (210 feet). The Garganta del Diablo or Devil's Throat (Garganta do Diabo in Portuguese), a U-shaped 150-metre-wide and 700-metre-long (490 by 2300 feet) cliff, is the most impressive of all, and marks the border between Argentina and Brazil. Most of the falls are within Argentine territory. About 900 metres of the 2.7-kilometre length does not have water flowing over it. The edge of the basalt cap recedes only 3 mm per year.

The water of the lower Iguazu collects in a canyon that drains into the Rio Parana in Argentina.
